Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to Pathora AI and related services, including the Pathora website, the Pathora AI app, connected learning services on study.eduzms.com where you use your account, and related EduZMS learning workflows. It is intended to be consistent with our App Store app privacy information.
App Store & “Data Linked to You”
As shown in App Store Connect, the categories of personal data that may be linked to you for app functionality are summarized as:
Data Linked to You: Contact Info, User Content, Identifiers.
Those categories are used to provide the Pathora service (for example account access, learning features, and feedback). This policy describes them in more detail below. We do not use the data types we collect for the purposes described in this policy to track you (as that term is used in App Store “App Privacy” — meaning not linked with third-party data for advertising or to profile you across other companies’ apps and websites).
1) Data We Collect
Depending on features you use, Pathora and (where applicable) our learning platform at study.eduzms.com may process:
- Name — to identify you within your account and in educator or support workflows when relevant.
- Username and user ID — to create and manage your account and to associate your learning data with the correct user.
- Email address — for account access, sign-in, security notices, and service-related communication.
- Audio — audio recordings for speaking practice and related features.
- Other user content — text inputs, including writing submissions, answers, chat or tutor messages, and learning responses you provide in the app or connected services.
- Learning progress — data such as pathway or module progress, task completion, practice scores, feedback, and study activity to save your progress and improve your experience.
2) How We Use Data
We use the data above for the following purposes related to the Pathora learning and assessment experience:
- Account creation, sign-in, and account management.
- Operating and providing the Pathora language exam learning and pathway system.
- Saving and displaying your learning progress and history.
- Generating AI-powered speaking and writing feedback and related scoring or suggestions.
- Operating AI chat or tutor features you choose to use within the app.
- Customer support, responding to your inquiries, and resolving technical issues.
- Improving reliability, security, and core app functionality (not for selling data or for cross-app advertising as described in the Tracking section below).
3) Microphone and Audio
Audio is collected only when you choose to record a speaking response or otherwise use a feature that requires microphone input. It is used to provide transcription, scoring, and feedback in line with the speaking and exam-practice features you have started. We do not use your audio for advertising or to build advertising profiles.
4) AI Processing and Third-Party Processors
Your audio and text may be processed by AI and related services to deliver the features you request, such as feedback, scoring, transcription, or pathway-related suggestions. This processing is limited to what is needed to run those features.
We may use our own systems and, where needed, third-party processors or partners, which may include (without limitation) providers such as OpenAI, DeepSeek, the British Council or other partner assessment or marking systems, speech-to-text services, and similar education or scoring partners. The exact services may change as we improve the product, but the purpose remains: learning, scoring, feedback, transcription, and related pathway features you initiate.
- Data is not sold for unrelated commercial purposes.
- Data is not used for advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps and websites in the way described in our Tracking section below.
- We do not add Analytics, location, health, financial, contacts, or sensitive data categories in this policy beyond what is listed above, unless we update this page and, where required, your product disclosures before expanding collection.
5) Tracking and Advertising
- Pathora does not use your personal data to track you across third-party apps and websites for advertising, consistent with the App Store definition of “Tracking” as applied to our data use.
- Pathora does not sell your personal data.
- Pathora does not share your personal data with data brokers or advertising networks for cross-app or targeted advertising. Where we use processors, it is to operate the learning and security features of the service, not to serve third-party ads.
6) Data Storage and Sharing (Service Operation)
- Core account, learning, and progress data for LMS-connected use may be stored and managed on study.eduzms.com as part of your programme or institution where applicable.
- Some data may be stored on your device for a faster or offline-tolerant experience.
- Data may be shared with processors only as needed to run Pathora, the website, the LMS connection, and the AI or speech features described in this policy.
- We do not sell your data to third parties.
